these greek guys kinda know what they're talking about. kinda. what about stuff that isn't in your power? like..your feelings? the universe? so I say, make the best of what isn't in your power..but still let the rest of the stuff happen since it will regardless. if you accept the outcome of each day instead of criticizing it or changing it, you'll realize you're a happier person one day. I'm not saying be unrealistic and annoyingly optimistic, but there's good in everybody and everything. I don't truly think people have bad intentions, just sometimes bad ways of expressing what they desire. I mean, some people are more selfish than others, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are heartless. they just know to accept reality as it is and tweak it so it conforms to their liking. right? right. I bet that was a bit confusing.

it's in your control to control how you react to anything. each day is an opportunity to tweak.

all I'm saying is that nobody died trying to make the best of something. if they did, I mean, people are going to die anyways. I'm sure if I were to die trying to make the best of what I have, I'd live my afterlife at a much more peaceful pace than somebody who wasn't ever happy..or did at any cost what it took to be unhappy. trust me, it's okay to want the best for yourself and at the same time let life take its toll.

err dammit. I quoted jigar patel. and andy bernard from the office, you should know what I mean if you're cool. so I got to thinking after my (sometimes) wise friend said that to me during one of our usual arguments, it's true. details make life. not just the random array of moments and instances, I mean..yeah they do, but what makes those significant? the details. why was that dinner special? why was that concert spectacular? why was that weekend amazing? sure, the overall experience becomes a pleasant blur, but small things stand out to make you want to recall that weekend in your mind over and over again like a playlist on repeat.

sometimes people pay too close attention to the details, which definitely gives life a more serious twist. it is possible to overlook details and enjoy life just as much, just make sure to give details importance. there's nothing wrong with being serious from time to time, just keep in mind that it's never ridiculous to look away from details occasionally, either. just be sure never to forget to live life, and remember which details make life worth living.

just find your balance. never pay too much attention to details to the point where you can't relax, also keeping in mind never to relax too much to the point where you can't focus on details. lovely way the world works, isn't it? sometimes it's funny how nobody finds the right answer until it's no longer needed.

addicts argue and say that instant vacation actually happens through apparation, but I won't go there. as I sit here, eating hot soup and listening to vampire weekend on repeat, I can't help but think about the happiest times I've had so far. yeah, I am rather fortunate to be the type of person who finds some sort of glow throughout the day, but the times I've been happiest have been the hardest to recover from. sometimes, people find that being extremely happy means losing the side of reality because it is just so effortless. if being happy is effortless, I assure you that whatever you're doing to get there is the right thing. there is nothing wrong with laughing at a racist joke or person tripping over themselves on the sidewalk. all that matters in the big picture is if you know you can laugh at yourself and your own mistakes (within time) because if you can't find it in yourself to be happy, you'll never truly be. whoever coined that laughter is the best medicine is a simple genius. prove me wrong if you so dare.

let loose. trust me, everything will seem to fall in place quickly and in your favor.
