" you want to believe you're on the same wavelength with someone and it's a little disheartening when you find out you're not. "
-- modern family

I find I make the mistake often of assuming everyone understands my wavelength. I do relate to most people on a lot of things, generic or not, but I love it when I find somebody who relates on almost everything. it's rare, but it's amazing. I tend to keep those people closer, on a higher level in my book. it's when you find somebody who has nothing in common with you, but somehow manages to keep you on your own wavelength when you begin to question the importance of similarities. happened to me. for growth, you need someone on a different wavelength..just somebody who is also capable of understanding your own, right? right. some food for thought. you'll find that the one worth finding is the last place you'd search. happened to me. and it's the best time of my life...best, but not effortless.

I love modern family. I started watching it when the first episode began, but as usual (I still haven't finished 24..) I stacked up the episodes and decided to catch up..today. I am a huge fan of the office, and before that, scrubs, but I just love the subtle humor combined with wisdom in modern family. I can't even pick out a favorite character because they all play their roles so well. I guess if I had to pick, I love phil -- he's the dorky dad. he is such a dorky dad and he even has a dorky dad and they both say the BEST dorky dad jokes!! one time, I was in the car with 2 friends, and this was while the whole swine flu epidemic was going on, and the girl was like I had a mild case of the swine flu...and her dad was like ahh did you have a diagnosis of the piglet flu? and I couldn't stop laughing..I told my entire family the joke. which means I probably killed it. shut up.
