no awkward silences

" time is an illusion. "
-- douglas adams

time is blind, that's what time is. the illusion is the amount of time, since it never really seems to work in our favor. we don't realize everything is dedicated to time, everything can be measured with time. relationships, jobs, studying, eating can all be measured in time and could be considered time well spent. of course when those things give us negative results, we consider it wasted time. but do we ever really waste time?

is wasting merely doing without purpose? maybe the way we treat our time is the actual measure of how mature or immature we are. time never stops or waits, you never get back the hour you spent reading or working out to make up for the hour you didn't clean. I guess if we treated our lives the way we treat time we'd appreciate it more. maybe less mistakes would be made, less regrets would occur. think about it: we know life goes on and on, but if we considered dwelling on the past a "waste" wouldn't it happen less? and if we treated each moment in life as preciously as we treat each moment in time, wouldn't there be less to categorize as regret?

the only flaw in time is that we can't pause it. we can't rewind our clock to take back what we said. we can't move our clock forward to guarantee our choices will lead us to the best possible outcomes. what we can do, is utilize each moment of our time by acting without any second-guessing. seize each second, even if that means sitting back and doing absolutely nothing.
