don't ever look back

" each man is the architect of his own fate. "
-- appius claudius

fate arguments are great. it just goes to show how stubborn a person actually could be. anyways, people who believe things happen for a reason probably allow anything to happen. why are you dating that asshole? because you're supposed to..or because you're self-destructive? that's what I thought. either way, people end up where they are because of their decisions. I truly think decisions define who you are, and who you are defines your fate.

sometimes things don't happen for a reason, unless you think a "reason" means a "lesson". people make mistakes, people mess up. I think the reason mistakes even really exist is because we don't realize what could lie ahead. people don't realize what they are capable of, nor do they understand how little of the world they have seen. it's easy to take experiences for granted, but it's even easier to take yourself for granted. once something amazing happens to us, it makes us wish we could erase the smudges of our past so we could be worth it for the amazing something. what people don't realize is this secret: smudges is what makes us worth it. without those smudges, we wouldn't have reached what we consider amazing. those smudges go hand in hand with your decisions, which essentially goes hand in hand with your identity and character.

if something comes along your way, don't ignore it. there's a reason you are attracted to it. whether it's a person, a job, a trip, or even a new style, try it. it could lead you to something you've always wanted, or teach you how to value experience. either way, nobody loses.
