you always find your way back to square one. but haven't you noticed how square one changes just as much as you do? and the first phase isn't necessarily the same for everybody. it can't be, we want different things.
just think about it. how do you turn into yourself again? when you find your muse, when you feel happiest? sometimes the two don't work simultaneously. sometimes our best can be brought out by the worst, and our worst can be frightening to accept.
and when we can't accept something, what do we do? most people move in a different direction with the hopes of a better fit. eventually we choose the right direction, only taking the necessities from square one. after all, without our first love, first kisses, first anythings, would we really be any closer to figuring out the rest?
there is a reason the past matters. different things have an affect on how people mold their desires and their character. when we try to defy it we find bitterness, and from what I've seen that's not the right fit.
