" don't go through life; grow through life. "
-- eric butterworth

crossroads. here we go again. it seems as though every time we walk into a new experience, we prep ourselves for all possible endeavors sprinkled with hope and doubt, so long as things turn out the way we want. I think it's easy to forget that nothing ever goes as planned; in fact, the only preparation necessary should be the fact that no preparation is necessary. confusing? I think not. every experience molds us into who we are at this moment in time, and the cycle never stops. think about any experience you've had: at some point some sort of investment had been made, forever tying yourself, forever molding yourself.

it's impossible to tell who or what will make us grow. sometimes growth comes unexpectedly, unfairly. sometimes growing up means letting go of things logically, willingly. either way, the only constant moving forward is time. it's absurd to think that everybody grows progressively and at identical rates. yet, we allow everything to boil down to timing. each person encounters new endeavors at any given instance, leaving the possibility of a crossroads to be nothing but spontaneous. and how do we handle spontaneity? we relax. we think. we act. then, we pick a direction and move forward, so as to not waste any more precious time.

honestly, I've yet to meet a worthwhile person who hasn't reached multiple crossroads. sure, it may mean making different mistakes here and there, but choices are only considered a waste if they haven't helped movement in any sort of direction. never allow any choice to become a waste, because each choice is a layer of who you are. if in some cases a choice directs you backwards, it could just be a sign that some things need to reach back to square one. growth should be celebrated, crossroads will then lead you to better pavement, and your mistakes will surprisingly become appreciated.
